課程概述 |
This course purports to introduce pre-service English teachers to the teaching methods widely discussed and practiced in the field of second/foreign language (L2) instruction. Specifically, it intends to familiarize students with the guiding principles and characteristic techniques as they relate to the selected L2 teaching methods. Also, it offers a platform where students could critique principled teaching activities in attempts for them to better suit different instructional contexts. Additionally, it affords students with the opportunities to design and administer L2 lessons by translating the theory discussed in class to real-time classroom practice. |
課程目標 |
Upon the completion of this introductory course, students can expect to be able to
1) discern and define the fundamental concepts and principles underlying different L2 teaching methods,
2) demonstrate and critique assigned and self-chosen L2 lessons,
3) design and administer L2 lessons grounded in the principles of selected teaching methods to a group of intermediate learners, and
4) develop strengthened presentational and instructional effectiveness. |

* “Plagiarism is the act of taking another person's writing, conversation, song, or even idea and passing it off as your own. This includes information from web pages, books, songs, television shows, email messages, interviews, articles, artworks or any other medium. Whenever you paraphrase, summarize, or take words, phrases, or sentences from another person's work, it is necessary to indicate the source of the information within your paper using an internal citation. It is not enough to just list the source in a bibliography at the end of your paper. Failing to properly quote, cite or acknowledge someone else's words or ideas with an internal citation is plagiarism”

** Numerous websites have provided guidelines for citing and quoting sources, such as Purdue Online Writing Lab (owl.english.purdue.edu/), The Writer’s Handbook (writing.wisc.edu/Handbook/QPA_plagiarism.html).
